Pen Pals

The project was set by IG Design, who wanted a stationery collection of 6 items for children, centered around a journal and based on a theme. My belief in the importance of nurturing emotional wellbeing, helped me create an ensemble of tools that would serve as mentors to children aged 7 to 9, guiding them through their emotions.

 

At the heart of this collection lies a journal, crafted to accompany them on their journey throughout the school year. Within its pages, I embedded exercises aimed at helping children to recognise their emotions and also develop practical coping strategies to navigate life’s ups and downs. To compliment the journal, I conceptualised 10 characters, each representing an emotion. These characters serve as guides, offering support to the children.

 

Recognising the importance of interactive learning, I designed a card set and board game, brimming with coping techniques that can be used both at home and on the go, equipping children with practical skills to empower them.
